Trekking to Laguna Llaca: The Llaca Glacier is a glacier west-central Peru that is located in the province of Huaraz, in the Ancash region within the limits of the Huascaran National Park. It is located 27 km from the city of Huaraz, where there is access road to this beautiful lagoon. On the way you can see the well-preserved archaeological remains of Wilcahuaín, belonging to the Huari culture. From this lake and the snow-capped Occhapalca Ranrapalca observed.
Day 1: Huaraz (3100 m) - Privat transport to Quebrada Llaca (4450 m) - Trekking Hike to Laguna Llaca (4443 m) - Return to Huaraz
From Huaraz our privat transport will pick up about 8.00am, we drive in direction to villages Wilcahuain below Quebrada Llaca, the road to the car is not so good, finally arrived refugio of School of Mountain Guides from Peru (Casa de guias – CEAM) (4450 m), in valley Llaca courses are made to educate or train the peruvian mountain guides, so Llaca has a good a lot of routes for rock climbing and ice climbing. Trekking around up to the Laguna Llaca (4474 m), surrounded by snow-covered peaks is an unforgettable experience. We hiked to the end of the lake and we can touch the ice, it is also possible to practice ice climbing in this area. an easy hike about 2 hours with great views of nature, after enjoy our day return to Huaraz.
